Repo! The Genetic Opera

Okay, folks. There's this movie that I'm really excited to see, ever since I saw a sneak peak at last years Spike Scream Awards.

Repo! The Genetic Opera.

An epidemic of organ failures devastates the planet. Panic erupts and scientists feverishly make plans for a massive organ harvest. Out of the tragedy, GeneCo, a multi-billion dollar biotech company, emerges. GeneCo provides organ transplantation for a profit. In addition to financing options, GeneCo reserves the right to implement default remedies, including repossession. For those who can't keep up with their organ payments, collection is the responsibility of "organ repo men", skilled assassins contracted by GeneCo, ordered to recover GeneCo's property by any means necessary.

Starring Anthony Stewart Head (Giles from Buffy!!!) as the Repo man. Bill Mosley, Sarah Brightman, Nivek Ogre (From Skinny Puppy!!) also star, along with many others.

I think the film is going to be great. For anyone that enjoys horror movies, rock operas, goth, industrial, punk rock music, it's right up your alley. I want everyone to see this when it hits theaters November 7th. But there's a problem. Lionsgate Films only gave the movie a limited release opening in only a few major cities. North Carolina? Not on the ticket. YET! The more people that spread the word about this movie, it has a good chance of getting a much wider release. Lionsgate wants bodies, and that's where I'm hoping all of you will come in.

The director, Darren Lynn Bousman (Director of Saw II, III, and IV) would love this to be shown everywhere, but he doesn't get to decide. LGF does. Darren stated that if we can get 1,800 digital copies of the soundtrack release on September 30th sold, then LGF will consider giving this movie a wider release. And on November 7th, if the theaters are packed? LGF will open it in even more cities. So, I'm asking, pleading, begging, that to all who read this....Go visit the site. [link]

Watch some clips, fall in love...And most importantly, SIGN UP ON THE REPO WEBSITE MESSAGE BOARD! [link]

You don't have to post much, if all! Maybe one post or two, which won't take more than a few minutes of your time. If the boards get thousands of people, Darren can take that to LGF and prove to them that people do want to see this movie... If only so their friends can stop pestering them about the movie! ;)

The other important thing is the sales of the digital release of the soundtrack CD. If you like musicals, rock operas, goth, industrial, etc, I'm positive you'll enjoy the CD and hopefully get excited about seeing the movie. If Repo! The Genetic Opera isn't something you're interested in, then PLEASE send this to anyone and everyone you think would be interested in it. If you have a blog/journal, post all the links there, post links on your myspace, facebook, whatever social networking site you are a part of. Know someone that has a large amount of people reading their blog? Send it to them! Do whatever you can to help me get the word out about this film. The fate of this film lies within our hands. Don't let all this hard work go to waste!

Here's an HD trailer for the film. [link]

Watch this You tube clip over and over and leave comments, the board is hoping to eventually get it on the front page, or more honors for most talked about here in America.

Link to SPIKE website where you can vote for Repo! as the most anticipated film. In the "From" line, put your name, "Subject" put Repo, and for "Vote" simply put Repo! The Genetic Opera. I highly suggest voting many times with different names. :)

Sorry for the length of this journal and being a total whore. But I feel very strongly about this movie, and I REALLY want the word to get out, so I'm relying heavily on my lovely deviantArt watchers to help me out. Even if Repo! isn't your thing, sign up on that message board anyway! For me, because you love me. Well, I hope so, anyway. ;)
